Dallas’ cheekiest burger joint steps it up Thrillist, 2010

Snow Cones for Grown-Ups NBC DFW

Named one of the top eight new restaurants that defined the culinary life of Dallas “I was as shocked as anyone that a Deep Ellum hamburger joint ended up being one of the my favorite eateries of 2006. But you go where your taste buds take you. A low-brow setting (intentionally so) with an upscale mentality, this scrappy restaurant is manned by fine-dining veterans who prepare their own ketchups and ice cream. Twisted Root could have been just another diner, but it became our favorite place to load up on grilled beef patties.” Dallas Voice, 2006

“The biggest challenge of the meal was what to leave unfinished, the half-pound burger, fried sides or milkshake. If I had brought a spare stomach to the meal, I would have wanted to sample the beer battered onion rings, a root beer float and fried ice-cream, but not the same day as the half-pound burger.” Dallas Business Journal, 2006

“We’re talking lick your plate good. But that’s not the only awesome part. After ordering customers are given a film or tv character’s name, (we got Ivana Humpalot, and responded to our addresser with “Oh you do, huh?” garnering some applause from our fellow diners.) Either way it’s gourmet abuse we really appreciate.” Observer Best of Dallas Issue, 2006

“Chef Jason Boso makes a mean cheeseburger and a Killer milkshake, what more could you want in a man?” D Magazine, October, 2006

Out of 10,000 restaurants, Twisted Root Burger Co. was named in the top 100 restaurants in Dallas as the only burger joint and fast-casual restaurant in the list of 100. Guide Live, October, 2006

“The basic Angus burger was a juicy, messy delight….the fried macaroni and cheese: a comfort-food favorite made even more delicious by rolling into rounds, battering them and frying until golden brown. Had these been around when I was a kid, Kraft would have never stood a chance. The burgers are “slap-yo-momma good.” Mothers, consider yourselves warned: It’s not far from the truth.” Twisted Root Burger Co. received three and 1/2 stars out of four for the highest rating of any burger joint. Dallas Morning News, 2006

“Adult Shakes? Oh yea. The Banana Bailey’s adult shake is thick, sweet, creamy and worth every calorie!” Envy Magazine, September, 2006

“The homemade ancho-chipotle ketchup is alone good enough to turn an average burger into a near-gourmet experience, but these burgers are already close.” Dallas Voice, August 8, 2006

“My favorite burger in town.” Monica, of Monica’s Aca y Alla, Cuidad, and The Drallion, August, 2006

“These are better burgers with a twist. In addition to the better burgers…the veggie burger was made mostly from a spicy puree of black bean with a small amount of tofu to bind it together – a very pleasing a nutritionally sound mix.” Ft. Worth Star Telegram, 2006

Man, you have got to try this new burger joint in Deep Ellum!” Park Cities People, 2006
